Animation and Outreach: The Panoply Vase Animation Project and Our Mythical Childhood
Sonya Nevin, University of Roehampton
The Panoply Vase Animation Project (www.panoply.org.uk) creates short animations from the scenes which decorate ancient Greek vases. The animations are available online and can serve as a useful resource within teaching and community outreach work. This paper will outline some of the ways in which the vase animations and related resources can be incorporated into talks and workshops. It will also introduce the exciting project that the Panoply team are currently pursuing as part of an international, European Research Council-funded project":" Our Mythical Childhood... The Reception of Classical Antiquity in Children’s and Young Adults’ Culture in Response to Regional and Global Challenges.
